Finding And Renting A Movie

Explore our available rentals organized by category by scrolling up or down. You can also select the Filters option to filter by rating or Rotten Tomatoes score. If you have a specific title in mind, the in-app search feature is the quickest way to locate your movie.

To learn more about a title, select the movie poster. Here, you can rent the movie in HD or SD, watch a trailer, favorite it for later, or explore related content by selecting members of the cast and crew.

After selecting Rent SD or Rent HD, you must select Rent again to finalize your purchase.

Your card on file will be charged immediately. Now that your rental has been processed, you can watch your movie by going to the My TV tab and finding your movie under the Rented ribbon.

Do I have to watch my movie right away?


Not at all! Find a good movie while at work and want to check it out at home? Once you've rented your movie, you'll see the options to Watch Now or Watch Later. Choose Watch Later to start your movie at a different time. My device doesn't have a Rentals tab, what can I do?


If the Sling TV app on your device doesn't have a Rentals tab, you can rent your movie on a different device that does offer rentals. Once you've rented your movie, choose the option to Watch Later. If you go back to the original device, you'll find your rented movie under the Rented ribbon on the My TV screen. 


Can I lock purchases?


Absolutely! Make sure that movies aren't rented accidentally by locking purchases using the Parental Controls feature in your SLING TV app.

How much does it cost to rent a movie?


The price of movie rentals generally ranges between $3.99 and $6.99 per movie. Some rentals are as low as $0.99, and many are free to SLING TV subscribers! 


Most rentals are available in both Standard Definition (SD) and High Definition (HD). 


How long do I have to watch my movie?


Once you rent a movie, you have up to 30 days to start playing it. After playback has started, you'll have 24-48 hours to watch your movie. 


How many times can I watch my movie?


Once you've started playback, you can watch a movie you've rented as many times as you'd like for as long as your movie is available.


I accidentally rented a movie, what can I do?
