Important Note: This device is different from the AirTV Player. For more information on how to watch on the AirTV Player, click here.
The AirTV and AirTV 2 are a whole new way to watch all your favorite channels on SLING and local channels from wherever you are.
Note that content received through your AirTV can only be viewed on iOS and Android mobile devices, Android TVs, and Amazon Fire TV and Fire Tablets, and Roku devices at this time. Stay tuned, as we’ll roll out support for additional devices in the coming months.
To get started, first connect your antenna to the AirTV on the coaxial cable port on the back of your device. If you’d like to connect your AirTV with an Ethernet cable, you can do so now. If you’d prefer to use Wi-Fi, find those steps below.
Only iOS or Android mobile devices can be used to set up or reconfigure your AirTV to connect to the internet.
Download the SLING app from the iOS App Store or the Google Play Store and sign in with your email address and password. Don’t have an account? Click here for step-by-step instructions on how to sign up
Tap the Menu button in the top corner of the screen (three horizontal lines), then select Settings, and then Over-the-Air Channels
Tap Set Up AirTV
Choose to connect either through Wi-Fi or Ethernet (note: Connect Using Wi-Fi is easiest if your phone is connected to the same network you want to use with your AirTV)
Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your mobile device directly to the AirTV
Android users can do this in-app
For iOS users, you’ll need to visit Settings > Wi-Fi and then select the AirTV network from the list. The AirTV will be represented by a name such as “AirTV_938B”
Your AirTV will default to the network your mobile device was previously connected to. If you need to connect to a different network, enter the network name and password, then select Continue
Once the AirTV is connected, you’ll see a green checkmark on the screen. Select Check for Updates to ensure the AirTV firmware is up-to-date. Once the update is complete, tap Continue
Next, enter a name for your AirTV, select Start Scan, then enter the ZIP code where your AirTV is located and tap Start Scan again
If you haven’t yet, make sure your OTA antenna is connected. Select Next to scan for channel
Once the scan is complete, the channels you receive will show up with the frequency number (channel number), channel name (e.g. WNBC-HD) and the strength at which you’re receiving the signal
You're all set! Select Watch TV to start watching!
